Does Companion require a bot on the call?
No. Companion records directly from your device — microphone or browser tab. No third-party joins your conversation. No awkward introductions, no chance of forgetting to remove the bot from a sensitive session.
What does it cost?
Free for up to 5 recordings per month. Pro is $12/month ($10/month if you pay annually) with unlimited recordings. Team is $25 per user per month with shared templates and audit logs. Full pricing →
How does it compare to Otter or Fathom?
Otter and Fathom rely on a bot joining your call. Fathom is Zoom-only. Companion records the audio your device hears — Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or in-person — without anything joining. We also ship sector-specific note packs (therapy, legal, medical, coaching, audit, sales, HR) out of the box, while Otter and Fathom return generic summaries.
What about privacy and GDPR?
Recordings, transcripts, and notes are encrypted at rest. You own your data. We support full export and one-click deletion. We do not train models on your content.
